Reviews Title: the chronicles of narnia, the lion the witch and the wardrobe Author: C.S. Lewis Review: The lion the witch and the wardrobe is the story about, you guessed it, a lion a witch and a wardrobe. this story follows four children named Lucy, Peter, Susan, and Edmund, as they discover a wardrobe that takes them to a magical land called "Narnia". When they get there they are told that they are part of an ancient prophecy that says that four humans would vanquish the evil white witch that rules their land. Although they are just children, they agree to stay and help a fawn that lucy met when she first arived. The story all leads up to an epic battle against the witch, while being aided by the king of Narnia, a lion named Aslan. A terrific book that shows the true meaning of heroism and mercy....East Longmeadow Public Library Catalog Title: St. Isaac and the Indians Author: Milton Lomask Review: This book is about a saint who is from france. He goes to the wilderness to preach to the indians and tell them about the glory of God. On the way to meet with another tribe, Fr. Isaac gets captured and tortured in horrible ways such as "Running the Gauntlet" and having his fingernails pulled out. After many months of pain and suffering he is finaly convinced to escape because the Mohawks were planning on killing him. Although he escapes capture and returns to france, he soon returns, bent on teaching the indians about the ways of Christ. Unfortunatly he is tricked into attending a meeting that had consequences more dire than he had immagined. This true story of a Martyr who gives his life for Christ is a true example of a man with a purpose, willing to do anything for the love of God....East Longmeadow Public Library Catalog
